How it works

A lineman is in our system because their employer enrolled them — and they explicitly opted in.

Line Operations is a B2B platform. We never acquire phone numbers from third-party lists, and we never market to consumers.

Contractor enrolls a lineman

An authorized dispatcher at the contractor's company (utility line crew, storm-restoration co, etc.) adds the lineman after obtaining verbal or written consent to receive operational SMS for dispatch.

One-time onboarding link

The lineman receives a single-use, 72-hour link by SMS or email. The link is the only path into the platform — there is no public sign-up form for linemen.

Lineman opts in explicitly

On the onboarding form, the lineman provides their mobile number and checks a clearly disclosed SMS consent box that names the sender, message types, frequency, and STOP/HELP keywords. Submission is blocked without that check. See the consent step →

Who uses Line Operations

Line Operations is a workforce-coordination platform for utility line construction and storm-restoration contractors — companies that build, maintain, and emergency-restore overhead and underground power infrastructure. Our customers are licensed electrical contractors and IBEW-affiliated employers who manage rosters of journeyman linemen, foremen, and apprentices.

We are not a consumer app. Linemen do not download anything, do not create public accounts, and do not appear in our system unless their employer enrolls them after the lineman consents. Phone numbers are never purchased, scraped, or imported from third-party lists. Every number on the platform is tied to an explicit, documented opt-in.

All operational SMS — storm call-outs, daily vehicle inspections, document renewals, onboarding links — is transactional, not promotional. Messages relate exclusively to the lineman's job, equipment, and credentials.

About the Line Operations SMS Program

Line Operations is an SMS-based job dispatch platform. Linemen are enrolled in the platform by a contractor or employer after the lineman verbally or in writing consents to receive job dispatch text messages from Line Operations. We do not market to consumers, and we do not acquire phone numbers from third-party lists.
